Harvesting Administration Functionality within webFiche allows the
Administrator to specify the retention period for all the files archived within webFiche. When webFiche starts up for any business day it checks the date and purges all the files that have exceeded the
retention period.
An Administrator function “CD archive” is provided for Backing up
the files onto CDs/DVDs (when DVD write drives become available). Depending the volume of data, a CD may hold a month or a quarters’ worth of data. CDs/DVDs are highly economical, very compact and
extremely easy to use. They can be used to view the reports/data on any personal Work Station in case the webFiche server is unavailable.
Reports/data can be restored using the restore function available to
the Administrator. Reports/data can be quickly restored from the Backup CDs/DVDs.
